The hammerhead shark  has an unusually small mouth compared to other predators. Because of their small mouth, they usually are bottom hunters and feast on stingrays. Hammerheads have high-sensory organs in their heads which they use to sense vibrations and movement of their prey when they can’t see it. One of the groups of sensory organs they use is the ampullae of Lorenzini which allows them to be able to detect the electrical fields of other animals. Because of their elevated ampullae sensitivity they can find their food of choice, stingrays, which are usually buried under the sand.hammerhead
